The Excelsior is a family-oriented neighborhood and this project is designed to provide more families with options for larger and more affordable homes. Excelsior and District 11 residents will be given neighborhood preference for some of the new affordable homes.
This project includes 41% affordable housing, which is a higher percentage than most of the new mixed-income residential projects throughout the city. The collaboration of BRIDGE Housing, a union pension fund, and Emerald Fund has enabled this project to blend public investments in affordable housing with in-kind contributions from the union pension fund to provide 175 new affordable homes.
By the numbers:
- 428 total new homes.
- 175 affordable and mixed-income homes.
- 47% of the all homes will contain two or more bedrooms to serve families.
